Origin Ports & Maritime Corridors

Pure Foods Ingredients operates from the geographic heart of Gujarat's agro-processing corridor (Bhavnagar & Mahuva). Our export consignments are routed through premier deep-water container terminals on India's Western coastline:

  • Mundra Port (Gujarat - INMUN1): Primary hub for direct ocean connectivity to Europe, North America, the Middle East (Jebel Ali, Dammam, Sohar), and Southeast Asia. Direct road connectivity from Bhavnagar within 8 to 10 hours.
  • Pipavav Port (Gujarat - INPAV1): Nearest deep-water port (approx. 130 km from Mahuva/Bhavnagar), providing fast dispatch for dedicated weekly services to the Far East, Mediterranean, and East Africa.
  • Nhava Sheva / JNPT (Mumbai - INNSA1): Specialized alternative terminal utilized for dedicated consolidated LCL shipments and specialized carrier bookings.

Container Capacities (FCL & LCL Volumes)

Container payload capacity varies depending on product bulk density and particle form (flaked kibbled cuts occupy higher volumetric space compared to dense powders):

Product Category Packaging Net 20ft FCL Capacity 40ft HC Capacity
Dehydrated Onion Flakes / Kibbled 14 kg / 20 kg Bag 7.50 – 8.50 MT 17.00 – 18.50 MT
Dehydrated Onion Minced / Chopped 20 kg / 25 kg Bag 13.00 – 14.50 MT 24.00 – 26.00 MT
Dehydrated Onion Granules & Powder 20 kg / 25 kg Bag 14.00 – 16.00 MT 25.00 – 26.50 MT
Dehydrated Garlic Flakes & Minced 20 kg / 25 kg Bag 11.00 – 13.00 MT 22.00 – 24.50 MT
Crispy Fried Onion (Pink / White) 10 kg / 14 kg Carton 6.50 – 7.50 MT 15.00 – 16.50 MT

LCL Consolidated Shipments: For pilot formulations and laboratory trials, minimum dispatch volume is 1,000 kg packed on heat-treated pallets inside consolidated groupage containers.

Moisture Control, Desiccants & Pallet Fumigation (ISPM-15)

Dehydrated alliums are hygroscopic and susceptible to "container rain" during trans-equatorial maritime voyages. We enforce rigorous stuffing protocols:

  • Moisture Protection: Every export container is lined with heavy-duty multi-layer kraft paper along walls and floor. Multiple calcium chloride / silica gel desiccant poles (1 kg to 2 kg absorption units) are suspended from container lashings to maintain ambient RH below 45%.
  • Primary Barrier: Virgin food-grade food-contact poly-liners (50-80 microns) heat-sealed or double-twist-tied inside heavy kraft bags or multi-wall export cartons.
  • Palletization & Fumigation (ISPM-15): Where requested by Buyer, goods are palletized on four-way heat-treated wooden or recycled plastic pallets, corner-boarded, and stretch-wrapped. Heat treatment conforms strictly to ISPM-15 standards with clear IPPC phytosanitary stamps.

Production & Dispatch Lead Times

Standard order execution timelines depend on whether supply is drawn from conditioned warehouse reserve or fresh contract dehydration:

  • Ready Inventory Dispatch: Standard flaked, minced, and powder cuts in certified warehouse stock are stuffed and gated-in at Mundra or Pipavav within 7 to 10 business days from receipt of advance deposit or operative Letter of Credit.
  • Fresh Crop Campaign / Custom Mesh: Custom granulation orders, specialized micro-controlled batches, or private packaging require 15 to 21 business days for factory sorting, optical sorting, metal detection, NABL laboratory release, and container stuffing.
  • Ocean Transit Schedules: Estimated ocean transit durations from Mundra/Pipavav:
    • Gulf / Middle East (Jebel Ali, Dammam): 4 to 7 days
    • Southeast Asia (Singapore, Port Klang, Jakarta): 12 to 18 days
    • Europe (Rotterdam, Hamburg, Felixstowe, Valencia): 24 to 32 days
    • North America (New York, Savannah, Long Beach): 30 to 42 days

Mandatory Export Documentation Pack

To guarantee rapid customs clearance and port entry at the destination, our Documentation Desk coordinates a comprehensive, discrepancy-free export documentation pack:

  • Full Set 3/3 Ocean Bill of Lading (BL): Clean on board, freight prepaid or freight collect, consigned to order or named buyer bank.
  • Commercial Invoice & Detailed Packing List: Stating batch numbers, gross/net weights, container/seal numbers, and HS codes (e.g., 07122000 for dehydrated onion, 07129020 for garlic).
  • Certificate of Origin (COO): Issued by the Chamber of Commerce or APEDA, including Generalized System of Preferences (GSP) or preferential trade pact documentation where applicable.
  • Phytosanitary Certificate: Issued by the Plant Quarantine Directorate, Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India.
  • Certificate of Analysis (COA): Detailed physical, chemical, and microbiological batch test certificate issued by in-house and NABL accredited laboratories.
  • Fumigation Certificate: Documenting methyl bromide (MBr) or aluminium phosphide treatment where mandatory.
  • Non-GMO, Allergen & Food-Grade Packaging Declarations.

Incoterms Delivery Framework

We offer flexible shipping terms tailored to international procurement structures under ICC Incoterms 2020:

  • FOB (Free On Board - Indian Port): Ideal for corporate buyers with established global freight forwarding contracts and negotiated carrier ocean service agreements.
  • CFR (Cost & Freight): Pure Foods arranges and pays competitive direct container line carriage to the nominated discharge port terminal.
  • CIF (Cost, Insurance & Freight): CFR augmented with comprehensive marine cargo insurance covering 110% of invoice commercial value.
7

Ocean Container Tracking & Milestone Alerts

From factory gate to destination port arrival, our logistics desk provides real-time shipment transparency:

  • Milestone 1: Container stuffing photographs (empty container condition, pallet placement, desiccant poles, rear door seal verification).
  • Milestone 2: Port gate-in confirmation and Customs Let Export Order (LEO) clearance notice.
  • Milestone 3: Ocean vessel loading confirmation, Bill of Lading generation, and ocean carrier tracking URL.
  • Milestone 4: Express courier tracking (DHL / FedEx) for physical negotiable document dispatch to the issuing bank or buyer office.
8

Maritime Cargo Insurance (ICC-A All-Risk)

Under CIF terms, shipments are insured with A-rated international marine underwriters under Institute Cargo Clauses (A) — the broadest all-risk coverage available for international maritime commerce:

  • Coverage encompasses container loss at sea, collision, jettison, seawater ingress, fire, and general average contribution.
  • Insurance is underwritten for 110% of CIF invoice value in the billing currency.
  • Claims are payable at destination through international survey settling agents designated in the maritime policy.
9

Destination Demurrage & Port Clearance Responsibilities

The Buyer is solely responsible for coordinating with regional customs house brokers (CHB) to effect prompt import clearance, payment of local tariffs/VAT, and container destuffing:

  • Shipping lines provide standard container free time (typically 7 to 14 days) at destination ports. Pure Foods negotiates extended free time (up to 21 days) upon buyer request where permitted by the ocean carrier.
  • Demurrage, detention, and port terminal storage charges arising from delays in buyer customs clearance or delayed duty settlement are for the Buyer's exclusive account.
